SureWash was founded on a simple set of principles. There are an estimated quarter of a million deaths worldwide per annum as a result of hospital acquired infections. The WHO and CDC believe that 50% of these deaths are as a result of poor hand hygiene practices. What may appear to be a relatively simple skill is alarmingly lacking in compliance.
SureWash uses its patented gesture recognition applications to teach staff, patients and visitors the proper competence in hand hygiene to globally approved standards.
Importantly this is achieved in an engaging manner where feedback is delivered in realtime and made fun by taking training opportunities out of the classroom and into the day to day work environment ensuring key moments are not missed. By gameifying the learning technique SureWash develops psychomotor skills and have delivered increases in hand hygiene compliance rates by as much as 50% when incorporated into a multimodal approach. Ultimately this not only saves organisations time, money and productivity but has a very real impact in improving patient outcomes. SureWash was founded on a simple set of principles. SureWash provides us with clear evidence that staff undertaking the training have actively participated and demonstrated their knowledge around hand-washing.
HMC uses SureWash as it provides us with a system which promotes and enhances education and compliance with Hand Hygiene throughout the hospital.
We love the SureWash machines! We have one in each of our main hospital sites.
The beauty of SureWash is that it goes into wards and departments so that doctors, nurses and other staff can train and assess themselves when it is convenient.
The device needed no training and staff used it unprompted… …61 staff used it on the Cardiac ward over a weekend.
We have adopted the SureWash system as an integral part of hand hygiene training and assessment for undergraduate and postgraduate students and staff.
Managers and trainees find SureWash easy to use, especially because the visual display shows exactly what areas need improvement.
