A Germ’s Journey is an educational company developed by education specialist, Prof. Sarah Younie and microbiologist Dr. Katie Laird from De Montfort University. Through fun and interactive education, they teach young children the importance of hand washing for their own health and well-being. A Germ’s Journey gives children and grown-ups the tools they need to learn about germs and hand washing. Their interactive books cater for a range of age groups. In addition, their learning tools are global & culturally relevant across UN regions. Their mission is to make ‘A Germ’s Journey’ educational resources available to children, educators and healthcare workers around the world.
‘SureWash: A Kid’s Journey’ incorporates the core SureWash technology that is used in global healthcare settings. It teaches children how to wash their hands correctly following the World Health Organization (WHO) technique. To support this training, it also incorporates educational resources from A Germ’s Journey. These will enable young children to learn how good hand hygiene can help prevent illnesses, supporting their own health and well-being.
SureWash: A Kid’s Journey supports the delivery of hand washing education in schools, hospitals and more, to teach children about the why, how and when of hand hygiene. We are proud that our app will help children build a life-long skill, helping to prevent illnesses and supporting their own health and well-being.
All enquiries from schools and charities are welcome. Please contact us for more information.
To acknowledge your children’s/students hand hygiene achievements, each child receives a personalised certificate. They can then share it with their friends and family.
